Houston Harbaugh Intellectual Property Attorneys to Teach Trade Secret Law at Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University

January 24, 2023

Chair of Houston Harbaugh’s Intellectual Property Practice Area and Co-Chair of its Litigation Department, Shareholder/Director Henry Sneath, and IP and Litigation practices Senior Attorney Corey Bauer, just began the 2023 spring semester teaching Trade Secret Law at the Kline School of Law at Duquesne University. In addition to his full-time IP and Litigation practice, Mr. Sneath is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University. Mr. Bauer will also lecture during the classes on cutting-edge issues related to DTSA and the relationship of Trade Secret protection and litigation to Data Privacy, Computer Fraud and Abuse Act claims, and Cybersecurity. This trade secret class is an upper-level elective course with a heavy emphasis on the history and development of trade secret law in the United States, the current standing of the law relating to state and federal statutes (including the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA)), the international and national security aspects of trade secret protections, and the analysis and understanding of trade secret law as applied to particular case facts. These types of issues and claims are in a tremendous real-world growth mode, particularly in the Federal Courts. Our intellectual property and DTSALaw® attorneys enjoy giving back to the community through the education of our nation’s future attorneys.
