Overview
Corey Bauer is a business and intellectual property litigator and trial lawyer whose practice spans both traditional IP law and emerging technologies. His core practice areas include Business Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation, Trade Secret Litigation, and Employment Law, complemented by specialized expertise in Artificial Intelligence Law, Data Privacy, and UAS/UAV (drone) technology.
As a litigation team lead, he handles complex disputes in state and federal courts, combining established IP experience with insight into emerging technology challenges. His extensive trial experience includes first and second-chair jury trials, first-chair arbitration, and numerous oral arguments before trial and appellate courts. He has taken and defended close to 100 depositions of fact and expert witnesses. Beyond litigation, he advises clients on comprehensive IP strategy, including traditional IP protection and emerging issues in AI implementation and data rights.
Corey brings unique expertise to matters involving autonomous systems and UAS/UAV (drone) technology. He represents clients in regulatory compliance, FAA investigations, and criminal actions relating to drone use, notably securing a defense verdict as solo trial counsel in a UAS-related felony ecoterrorism jury trial. He regularly contributes to the legal discourse on drone technology through speaking engagements and publications at both state and national levels.
His cybersecurity and privacy practice addresses both traditional and emerging challenges. He assists companies and municipalities with data privacy compliance, breach response, and social engineering/BEC fraud investigations, while also guiding clients through AI privacy frameworks and automated system security. His published works on cybersecurity and trade secrets appear in national publications, and his eDiscovery experience spans large-scale data disputes both domestically and internationally, including matters involving AI systems and traditional IP assets.
