A New Decade Brings Important Promotions at Houston Harbaugh

February 6, 2020

Houston Harbaugh, one of Pittsburgh’s leading law firms, announced today that five attorneys have been promoted. On behalf of the Executive Committee and the Directors, the following promotions are effective immediately: Brandon McCullough from Senior Attorney to Shareholder/Director; Jaclyn Faulds, Catherine Loeffler and Amber Reiner Skovdal have all been promoted from Senior Associate to Senior Attorney; Erik Bergenthal from Associate to Senior Associate.

Special congratulations go to Mr. McCullough on this step forward into the leadership of the firm. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and will no doubt help carry Houston Harbaugh into the new decade and far beyond.

It comes as no surprise that three of the five individuals promoted are women. Houston Harbaugh has long prided itself on being an inclusive and diverse law firm, routinely having a higher than average percentage of women in leadership roles. It is this progressive outlook that has afforded Houston Harbaugh the growth and success it sees year over year.

Mr. McCullough joined the firm in 2018, when his previous firm, Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, merged with Houston Harbaugh. Brandon’s practice concentrates primarily in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, complex commercial and business litigation, and appellate litigation. He has represented insurance companies in a wide array of coverage disputes in trial courts and on appeal in both state and federal court. He received his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Brandon has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Pennsylvania Rising Stars from 2013-2020.

Ms. Faulds joined the firm in 2017, and focuses her practice in business counseling, corporate governance, financing transactions, and business planning and commercial transactions including acquisitions, mergers and entity restructuring. She also represents clients in real estate matters including financing, acquisitions and sales, title issues and lease negotiation. Jaclyn received her law degree and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and her undergraduate degree from Penn State University. Jaclyn has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Pennsylvania Rising Stars for both 2019 and 2020.

Ms. Loeffler joined the firm in 2015, and concentrates her practice on employment litigation, employment consulting, and internal employee investigations services for employers across all industries throughout western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Her cases range from high profile employment discrimination cases to complex construction and products liability litigation. Catherine received her law degree from Duquesne University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College. Catherine has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Pennsylvania Rising Stars from 2018-2020.

Ms. Reiner Skovdal joined the firm in 2018, when her previous firm, Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, merged with Houston Harbaugh. Amber has handled diverse matters involving complex commercial and business litigation, insurance and bad faith, products liability defense, employment disputes and intellectual property litigation including trade secret disputes as well as patent and trademark infringement litigation. She received her law degree from Duquesne University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Amber has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Pennsylvania Rising Stars from 2017-2020.

Mr. Bergenthal joined the firm in 2015, and has a diverse legal background covering complex civil litigation, non-compete disputes, construction litigation, petitions for guardianship, zoning appeals and collection cases. He has additional experience researching chain of title and drafting Certified Title Opinions. He received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Erik has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Pennsylvania Rising Stars for both 2019 and 2020.
