Brendan O’Donnell Featured in the LAAPL Override Newsletter

Director Brendan A. O’Donnell’s article “Will Cryptocurrency and Data Mining Add New Complexity to Oil & Gas Zoning” was been published in the May 2024 edition of the Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen (LAAPL) newsletter The Override. In his article, Brendan addressed the growing intersection between the energy needs of cryptocurrency and data mining facilities with oil and gas zoning laws. As municipalities face questions about how zoning impacts oil and gas operations, the emergence of new technologies like cryptocurrency mining—which often requires large amounts of energy—pose new challenges.
