Corey Bauer is a business and intellectual property litigator and trial lawyer practicing in the firm’s substantive practice areas of Business Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy, Trade Secret Litigation and Employment, and UAS/UAV (drone) advocacy and investigations. He also has extensive eDiscovery experience in large-data disputes both nationally and internationally.
He is a litigation team lead in complex disputes for the firm’s clients in state and federal courts. He has first and second-chair jury trial and bench trial experience, first-chair arbitration experience, has presented numerous oral arguments before trial and appellate courts, and has taken and defended close to 100 depositions of fact and expert witnesses. In addition to his litigation and trial practices, he regularly advises clients on IP strategy and counsels them on strategic decisions to maximize liability protections.

He has represented individuals and corporations in regulatory compliance matters, FAA investigations, and criminal actions relating to drone use. He successfully defended an individual in a UAS-related, felony ecoterrorism jury trial in Pennsylvania as solo trial counsel. He has spoken and published articles on the subject of UAS technology in the judicial system on both a state and national level.
In addition to the above, he assists companies and municipalities in cybersecurity and data privacy compliance, response, and litigation. He has handled breach responses, social engineering/BEC fraud litigation and investigations, and regulatory/statutory compliance matters. He has been published on the topic of cybersecurity threats to company trade secrets in national publications and periodicals.
In his personal time, Corey is an avid outdoorsman. He regularly can be found hunting, fly fishing, or backcountry hiking. He also chooses to give back to the local legal community by coaching the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Mock Trial Teams for tournaments around the country, and teaching trade secret litigation at Duquesne University Kline School of Law.
