Business/Insurance/IP/Employment Litigation Associate Attorney(s) needed ASAP for exciting trial-based practice in these diverse areas. We are looking to hire a full-time litigation attorney for one or more of these areas: insurance coverage, bad faith and defense litigation; business litigation; IP infringement litigation; and employment/trade secret litigation work. Applicant must be licensed at minimum in Pennsylvania and we would prefer someone living in the Western Pennsylvania region. Some deposition, motions, oral argument and/or courtroom experience will be considered favorably. Good writing skills are required. Job Responsibilities

  • Assist lead attorneys in handling all aspects of litigation, including: research, writing, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions
  • Drafting and answering discovery requests and discovery responses
  • Participating in, or administering large document database management, review and coding, and document production when needed on complex cases
  • Preparing for, taking and/or participating in depositions
  • Presenting motions and arguments in court
  • Substantial client contacts and engagement with litigation teams on complex cases
  • Assisting in all aspects of strategy, development, and preparation for hearings, agency tribunal proceedings, and participation in trials.

Qualifications

  • Law licensure in Pennsylvania at minimum.
  • 2 - 6+ years experience in some or all practice areas of insurance coverage or defense and bad faith litigation, business litigation, IP infringement litigation, employment and trade secrets litigation or cybersecurity and data breach in support or lead roles preferred.
  • Need strong, high-level research and writing skills and a good understanding of Pennsylvania state and federal law and litigation rules and strategies.
  • Strong consideration will be given to those with insurance coverage, defense and bad faith litigation experience. Knowledge of IP, trade secrets, and employment law are helpful.
  • Experience in helping senior lawyers with hearing, trial and courtroom preparation, and other litigation and document management support is a plus.

Role Description

We seek a full-time 2-5 year associate attorney for the firm’s robust insurance coverage and bad faith practice group. The position will also involve working on other business litigation matters. Applicant must be licensed at a minimum in Pennsylvania. Residency in the Western Pennsylvania region is preferred. Candidates should have research, writing and litigation experience involving some or all of: first party property claims, UM/UIM claims, Pennsylvania bad faith law, coverage opinions and disputes, and insurance agents/brokers. The position involves engagement in complex litigation in both state and federal court and an opportunity for professional and business development.

Job Duties:

Assist lead attorneys in handling all aspects of insurance coverage counseling and litigation, including:

  • preparing insurance coverage opinion letters.
  • drafting pleadings.
  • drafting discovery requests and discovery responses.
  • preparing for and participating in depositions.
  • presenting motions; and
  • assisting in all aspects of dispositive motions practice and trials.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law; a Juris Doctor (JD) degree; Law Licensure in Pennsylvania at a minimum
  • Experience preparing and drafting Motions and other legal documents
  • Proficiency in legal Research and analysis to provide effective case strategies
  • Skills in handling Depositions and conducting client and witness interviews
  • Knowledgeable in court proceedings, including litigation practices and trial preparation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively

(or an hourly based contract lawyer for part-time) for the firm’s environmental practice group. Applicant must be licensed at minimum in Pennsylvania and we would prefer someone living in the Western Pennsylvania region.

  • Providing legal support and counsel on a variety of environmental matters including regulatory compliance, litigation, investigations, enforcement actions, and transactional due diligence;
  • Counsel and representation to clients on environmental law matters;
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and initiatives;
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs;
  • Participate in negotiations, depositions and settlement discussions; and
  • Collaborate with other firm attorneys and legal professionals within other practices.

Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of environmental legal experience;
  • Preferably, experience in regulatory compliance, environmental litigation, government investigations, enforcement actions, and transactional due diligence;
  • Law licensure in Pennsylvania at minimum;
  • Knowledge of Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and/or RCRA matters and associated state regulations;
  • Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school;
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; and
  • Be able to work with a team or individually;
